For those who received the trainer news letter, our sincere apologies. We do hope you find this information helpful and useful moving into Suicide Prevention Month.

You can find our Social Media Graphics at the bottom of this page

Thank you for helping spread the mission of Soul Shop. Every post you share helps lessen the stigma that surrounds suicide, encourages life-saving conversations, and connects people with hope and support.

Brand Reminder:

When sharing our logo, brand, or resources, please make sure to follow our Brand Guidelines, which you can find here: CLICK HERE

Social Media Goals

- To share hope and to encourage seeking help

- To reduce stigma surrounding suicide (and Mental Health).

- To promote attending or hosting Soul Shop workshops

- To highlight stories of connection, community, and faith (You are not alone, for we are all here).

- Sharing trusted suicide prevention resources (Leaving in Good Hands)

- Emphasizing Soul Safer communities

Best Practices

- Use person-first, compassionate language.

- Encourage hope and remind people they are not alone.

- Credit Soul Shop when sharing our branded graphics  and include registration links when promoting workshops

- Use Soul Shop’s Flyer template when inviting or promoting workshops. You can find the template here or contact Jessica@SoulShopMovement.org so she can create a shareable flyer for you.

- When possible, include the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. These can be found on the trainer site at www.SoulShopTrainers.org under the GENERAL TAB on the site, or you can find them at 988 Faith-Based Posters

- When making/sharing videos or clips, make sure they are no longer than 1 minute to keep attention.

Things to Avoid:

- Graphic or detailed descriptions of suicide.

- Language that sensationalizes or glorifies suicide (Do not use “committed suicide”; instead, use “died by suicide”). Please see The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) / Jed Foundation “How to talk about suicide”

- Don’t share confidential information about anyone’s story or photos without their permission.

- Posts that could be interpreted as divisive or inconsistent with Soul Shop's mission.

- Before posting something you're unsure about, please contact us for guidance.

Suicide Prevention Month Graphics (September).

We have created a couple of social media graphics to use for Suicide Prevention Month. Please feel free to download and share starting a couple of weeks before and then weekly through the end of September. You can find them below

We have also created FB cover graphics you can download them below. Simply drag and drop the images to your facebook page or to the desktop.

We encourage our trainers, Churches, and everyone to:

-Share one graphic every few days throughout September.

-Add a personal message about why suicide prevention matters to you or how it has impacted you or your community. Creating a Soul Safe community and having a safe space for these honest conversations is what saves lives.

-Invite people to attend an upcoming Soul Shop workshop in their area.

-Encourage your friends, family, and followers to share the posts to help spread hope.

Being and staying consistent all across can help us reach more people and expand across the digital world.

At Soul Shop, we are grateful to you for your commitment to helping us create  Soul Safer communities within your areas of Faith and starting honest conversations about suicide that can help save lives and fill others with the Hope they need to stay another day.
